Lorene Bruns, Regional Sales Manager at Duperon Corporation, has been awarded the 2015 New Professional of the Year award by the Michigan Water Environment Association (MWEA). This honor is awarded for dedication to the MWEA while relatively new in the field.
Bruns has worked with Duperon Corporation since 2005, when she initially began in Inside Sales. In her current role as Regional Sales Manager, Bruns travels extensively throughout the United States, discussing product application and design with potential customers. She finds that the opportunities she encounters daily to be inspiring. “When I came to Duperon, one of the things that resonated with me was the possibility of making a difference,” Bruns shared. “I feel very privileged that I am able to continue to make a difference, both at Duperon Corporation and in my work through MWEA.”
Ms. Bruns is involved in several activities through the Michigan Water Environment Association, including the MWEA Joint Expo Committee, MWEA IPP Committee, and the MWEA Water for People Committee. Additionally, she is involved with the Water Environment Federation (WEF), a national organization working to support the interests of the water and wastewater industry, both as a member and through service to the WEF Industrial Wastewater Committee.
“I am one person doing work that ripples across the country, and through MWEA I get to spend time collaborating with other individuals whose collective efforts provide access to clean drinking water and sanitation across the globe. That is what inspires me,” said Bruns.
“Being a member of MWEA truly feeds the work I do, providing me with access to a network of knowledgeable people and access to industry information. The professionals working within the MWEA share a passion for water, and spending time with them gives me the opportunity to be both a teacher and a student of water-related issues,” Bruns finished.
