Heavy Duty Trashracks

Durable Screening with Self-Cleaning Trash Rakes

Adaptable, heavy duty trashracks and raking solutions for all types of applications

FlexRake® Heavy Duty Screen and Trashrack

Reliable debris removal for all applications and conditions

The FlexRake® Heavy Duty (FRHD) uses a coarse bar screen and flexible, mechanically cleaned FlexRake to adapt to all types of debris. The system is designed to adapt to varying flows and debris types without jamming. The Jam Evasion™ technology lifts and pivots to remove even the most challenging debris from the channel without fouling or jamming. The system continually cleans across the entire intake using multiple scrapers. Since this heavy duty trashrack has no lower sprocket, it’s easy to maintain from the deck. There’s no need for maintenance in confined spaces or under the water line.

This versatile and hard-working machine is made to withstand inclement weather, weed blooms, floodwaters, and difficult debris as large as vehicle frames. With many customizable options, we make it easy to get the ideal FlexRake Heavy Duty Screen for your application and facility, including:

FlexRake FRHD
  • Open channels
  • Water intakes
  • Coarse screens
  • Stormwater
  • Irrigation canals
  • Pump stations
  • Flood control
  • Hydroelectric
  • Drainage canals
  • Combined sewer overflows

Design Collaboration

To build your solution, our engineers take the time to understand your facility, process, and goals.

We’ll combine our team’s experience with water screening, cleaning, and processing with your team’s detailed understanding of your product and process, so we can develop a reliable and cost-effective solution.

FlexRake® Rake Only (FRO) for Existing Screens

Automated trash rake to protect and improve open channel cleaning

The FlexRake® Rake Only (FRO) automated raking mechanism can be retrofitted to existing screens to make cleaning and debris removal easy and safe. By mounting onto the deck or the screen, the FlexRake FRO cleans and removes vegetation, tree limbs, and even tires and automobile frames from existing bar screens with openings between ½ inch and 4 inches (or greater). This machine uses the same reliable technology and versatile design as our other trash rakes, so it continually adapts to water and debris conditions 24/7, without wearing out. With fractional horsepower and few moving parts, this trash rake is extremely cost-effective and easy to maintain. This simple, yet durable solution can be retrofitted to many types of bar screens, including those used in:

  • Open channels
  • Water intakes
  • Coarse screens
  • Stormwater irrigation
  • Canals
  • Pump stations
  • Flood control
  • Hydroelectric
  • Drainage canals
  • Combined sewer overflows
  • Wastewater applications

How can we help

Self-Cleaning Trashrack (SCT) for Tough Open Channel Conditions

Low-maintenance, high-performance, continuous cleaning for open channel applications

The Duperon Self-Cleaning Trashrack (SCT) is a robust solution for challenging open channel applications with large, difficult or high volume debris, or high velocity flows. With 3,000lb lifting capacity, the self-cleaning trashrack can remove nearly any object that flows into the channel. The self-cleaning operation removes difficult debris automatically and continuously, without operator intervention, at a pace that is manageable from the deck. This makes flood control, uninterrupted power generation, and pump protection easier than ever. The Self-Cleaning Trashrack is designed to work alongside operators and make difficult weather events or conditions easier to handle. The trashrack cleans the entire intake and uses chains independent of one another to keep the mechanism moving. With few moving parts, no underwater bearings or sprockets, and minimal maintenance, the SCT is easy to install, own, and operate in nearly any setting, including:

  • Flood control
  • Hydroelectric
  • Co-generation
  • Nuclear power plant
  • Stormwater
  • Water intakes
  • Diversion dams
  • Drainage pump stations
  • Irrigation
