Robert Michael (Mike) Pruitt
10-14-1948 to 3-14-2016
Our Duperon family has suffered a great loss with the death of one of our own, Mike Pruitt, Director of Marketing. Mike was recently hospitalized with complications from a heart condition, and passed away on March 14 with Glenda, his wife of 35 years, at his side.
Mike had been a member of the Duperon team since October 2009, and was an integral part of our company's growth and success these past 6 1/2 years. His leadership, knowledge, wisdom and creativity energized us and improved our lives, both personally and professionally. Those of us who knew him can attest to the fact that Mike was a talented artist, gifted writer and designer and a creative force within numerous industries and markets. He was a visionary, marketing expert and master negotiator.
Mike was an active member of WWEMA and had been involved in the water/wastewater, pulp & paper, and rock & quarry industries for over 40 years. He brought to Duperon an insight and perspective that both challenged us and stretched our boundaries as a company so that we are who we are today, in part, largely because of Mike.
From the moment Mike joined us, his dream was to build Duperon into a company that would become a "textbook success story", and it was to that dream that he was passionately committed. He built a team that he believed "could do anything they put their mind to", and his leadership reflected that belief. As we move forward, holding on to his memory, we will continue pursuing that dream.
Mike was a dear friend and will be missed immensely. He will always have a place in our hearts.
