Duperon Corporation Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Saginaw, MI – The leader in preliminary liquids/solids separation technologies celebrates 25 years of innovation, growth, and being part of the industry quest to find a better and easier way to screen.

Twenty-five years ago, a simple idea recorded on a napkin gave birth to Duperon Corporation and screen approaches that have, in fact, made it easier to separate liquids from solids. Today, the evolution of the idea – the
Duperon® FlexRake® – operates in more than 600 installations across North American and internationally. Duperon Corporation has received multiple awards for its continuing traditions of entrepreneurship and ingenuity, most notably including the Michigan Manufacturer of the Year, Michigan’s Top 50 Companies to Watch, the Dr. Samuel H. Shaheen Vision of Free Enterprise Award, Michigan’s Economic Bright Spot, and others.
Duperon Corporation, which has operated from Saginaw, Michigan since 1985, continues to offer simplicity as a standard by which each of their products can be judged. In twenty-five years the Duperon® product line has expanded to contain machines for liquids/solids separation applications with coarse, fine, and ultra screening, as well as associated technologies such as the Duperon® Washer Compactor.

“I saw a problem that needed to be fixed,” relates founder and Chairman of the Board, Terry Duperon. “I was making pumps then and they would get clogged up with the debris that was in the channel, so I put my waders on and set to figuring out what I could do to stop it.”

His solution, the patented Self-Cleaning Trashrack, launched Duperon Corporation. His invention of the Duperon® FlexRake® in 1995 opened the avenues of the wastewater industry to the company.

“We began as a stormwater company,” said Tammy Bernier, President and CEO. “That was our beginning, and we were able to apply what we knew about dealing with the toughest debris and harshest environment possible to the wastewater environment.”

In many instances, this history has enabled wastewater plants to eliminate pre-screening, a concept that supports the Duperon® First Law of Simplicity: “Two parts is one part too many.”

Now, with the recent introduction of the Duperon® Perforated Plate, Duperon Corporation has set a new standard for screening innovation by relegating the clogging and blinding of perforated plate screens to the pages of history.

Duperon is the leader in preliminary liquids/solids separation technologies and provides technologies for coarse screening, fine screening, low flow screening, ultra screening, washing compacting, and conveying. Duperon technologies are designed and manufactured in Saginaw, Michigan.
